Let's maintain the integrity of Mading Aweil board

Fellow members,

I have said, repeatedly, that this board will be guided by high degree of fairness and respect for one another. We have continually encouraged members to always engage on meaningful and healthy arguments characterized by intellectual maturity. It is also worth noting that we support freedom of expression for it is the only way through which we can positively affect and sensitize our community (ies) to be aware of their immediate concerns. However, this freedom should not be abused by engaging on a ‘hateful ideology’ geared toward ‘lynching’ particular members of this board or of our community. I was shocked by the events of this week where some of our community members joined the board with a clear purpose of creating choas and anarchy on the board. Although we are not believers of censorship, I must say that we will not tolerate the erosion of the values upon which this board was created.

If one has grudge of any kind with a given member, please be advised that this board is not the right venue to bring it up. There are other places where you can settle your problem (s) such as through e-mails, but not on a community public board for that can simply portray erroneous and false image of our community. I would like to reiterate that, as much as we have this freedom (of expression) at hand; let’s always remember to respect the values and integrity of our board. Let’s our disagreements be based on principle, let’s always try to think outside our personal differences. There is so much we can accomplish together but that will not be possible so long as we allow our differences to stand on our way. Have the very best of luck wherever you are.

Kuot Kuot.

Garang Kuat and Kuot Kuot,

I appreciate your perspectives with the respect to the way some members approach problems at hand. I suppose people should not forget that we have many things to do here for the sole purpose to benefit and learn from one another: we have to discuss moral, political, and perhaps economic issues in this Forum in the way that is an unbiased and constructive. This would lead to a better approach to problem whenever it occurs and thus we would create a logically meaningful way of dealing with sensitive issues. The discussions or debates we always have are not scientific in nature but some if not all of them have logical, genuine, and thoughtful meanings in them, which can help many people out there to benefit. Moreover, we don't write for the sake of writing; however, we do write so that we can get feedbacks or responses from other people that might disagree or agree with us. And that is the nature of all discussions.

Dear all,

This message to all members is  rightly cogent and logically reasonable in the sense that it would a lert and once again inform participants of what the Website was purposely formed. Realistically, there is no way we can control all misunderstandings and incidental or premeditated disparagements but let's try to maintain the the general purpose of the Website so that we won't lose the right track. We are all beneficiaries of this mission and no one can claim to have particular privileges that other members don't have, but the factual reality is that no one will be excused for "ad hominen" and disparaging language: we have to interchangeably respect ourselves (participants), because this would both save our relation and the purpose of the website.

Thanks,

Aher's

Dear brothers Kuot, Kuat and Mayiik,

You have said it all to participants of Mading Aweil web site. I agree with your insights perspectives and I hope we ( the participants) will digest it friendly. I believe too that the core purpose of this web site was to create awareness and greater interaction of Aweil with neighboring commnuties particularly South Sudan communities and may be worldwide but this has not been it to some participants. I also believe that it was created to pursue Aweil dreams and aspirations. So ladies and gentlemen, let us go back to the right track and observe the norms of this web site. Thanks.

Santino Ajith
