how should a good leader be according to you.

dear aweilians.

this is a questions that we should answer so that if we have current aweil leaders who participate in this discussion board should take on board.

according to me a good leader is like Dau Aturjong who when he/she gets an opprotunity to lead, builds landmark or things to emulate. for the time he was aweil bregadier, he maximised his chance to buy cars for the whole commnunity and ensure people were in peace. there is nothing better you can guarantee community rather than peace/security. people cannot enjoy peace if there is fear and mistrust.

a leader should be ready to serve rather to be serve. we have adopted culture of sticking to position and hope to be removed by force. he/she should always evaluate his/her works and ready to change.

catch up with you later.

Garang pioth,

I am like Kijana Dhor. We have great leaders in Aweil and that is the reason we don't hold them accountable for the devastation of Aweil. The destruction of Aweil is in the hands of people who stationed Aweil troops in Equatoria, BlueNile, and UpperNile. A people who thought the forgetting Aweil notwithstanding the tragic slavery would be the better way to destroy her political future. No, that was a collosal miscalculation. We will never be permanently deformed. We have outstanding and courageous leaders like Malong Awan, Dau Aturjong, Santo Ayang, the late George Kwach, the late Bol Akook (who was murdered by the truth enemies of Aweil), and many more. They have done a superb job to maintain the wonderful history of Aweil people. The another important thing is that they have got a tough generation behind them. We will never relax. It is our duty to work with them and learn more from them. Co-operation is the key to go.

These leaders's sacrifices can't be relegated or underestimated. It is because of their commitments and sacrifices otherwise Aweil would have been declared "Panthar." Their efforts with a few troops who managed to escape from Equatoria, UpperNile, and BlueNile have done a tremendous job to protect Aweil citizens. Therefore, we have to give them appreciation and honor for their incredible sacrifices to protect Aweil from barbaric communities whom their intentions are to destroy our people.

Today the question is, what can we do to help them (leaders) so that they have capacity to face the reality of the situation in this era of elitic administration. I hope they need help from us. We have to co-operate with them in a good faith and more legitimate way. We must form a strong team with our leaders back home so that we can push back this hugh political invasion on our land.  We are on our own feet to do anything in the utmost limit of our capacity. Thus, it would be a collosal mistake if people who have been driving us like a vehicle still think of driving Aweil community or turning it to any direction they want. It is a time for us to question the legitimacy and faith of anybody who wants to interfere with our affairs.

Garang poith, the most important thing is to make sure we have a better relation, we are strongly united, we are fully committed to do what will help Aweil innocents who have no ability to protect themselves from bad people. Let's not make a mistake of putting other people in the charge of our destiny. Therefore, I urge my fellow brothers and sisters who are enlightened and cognizant of all dangers to stand up for what will help the vast majority of Aweil. Aweil innocents have faced unprecedented tragic situations during this period of a long war. Now it is a time to get Aweil on the road to prosperity only through enlightened and vigilant generation. let's stand up and face the factual reality of the current situation together. We will finally win if we get united and push for a brighter future for all of us.

Hi Garang Pioth and all,
I agreed with you. The two are great leaders of our community. With no doubt they sacrificed themselves to serve our community. So they ought to be congratulated for a well job done.

hi everybody!

you were really very keen to pinpiont those who have done superb jobs in aweil and what an ideal leader should be. those people such as dau aturjong, malong awan, santo ayang and late george kuach.

aher's has poped up a question that, 'what can we do to help them (leaders) so that they have capacity to face the reality of the situation in this era of elitic administration?'. this is a good question. i can answer you that the best way to help them is to assure them that we are with them in whatever they do and we are their successors. warn them that we are watching and everybody held accountable for their works.

secondly we have so many ways of helping in post war sudan and we cannot speculate about them at the moment but they are there.

thirdly we can also assure them that those who have done exceptional jobs will deserve honoured legacies which can be inform of statue, schools, hospitals and what have you.

see ya.
