Dr. Garang area of movement is reduced once again.
Since the inception of SPLA/M, many people know that Dr. Garang does not take risk like a leader. He is known as the first coward South Sudan has ever produced. A leader is a committed person. S/he takes every responsibility of the nation including death if need be.
My first in encounter with Dr. John Garang was in 1986 at Marol between Sudan and Ethiopia border. At that time, SPLA/M has just recaptured Bukteng from Anyanya II and Dr. Garang was going to the area to witness the fall of that strategic border area to his armed group, SPLA/M. The guards with Dr. Garang were all relatives and senior commanders as well totally to more than a battalion. I was told that Garang used such a huge force for his personal protection. He has avoided going to areas Akuot Atem and Samwel Gai Tut passed through since. And therefore, Dr. Garang erased those areas from his travelling map in the South.
Secondly, when Dr. Riek Machar splinted from the SPLA/M the area of ‘NO GO’ for Dr. John Garang increased drastically which encompassed the whole of Upper Nile and some areas from other provinces.
Thirdly, the difference between Dr. John and Cdr Salva Kiir shrank further the area of Dr. John movement. He has since their differences surface avoided part of Equatoria and Bahre el Gazal that he presumed to be strong hold of his opponent.
If I can point out very clearly, Dr. Garang safe heaven and areas of his movement are: From Kenya ==> Newsite ==> Ramchiel ==> Rumbek ==> Uganda and the circle restart again. His fear made him hostage of his own. How could he be leading the South Sudan in such a fear state when his enemies are more than his sympathisers are? Is he going to lead with remote controller? What’re psychological reasons that generate such a fear or causes of psychological fear in the mind of coward like Dr. John Garang? Any Psychologist to answer these question?
