The good news of this new year 2oo5 is that ,huge number of Aweil students who are candidates for Kenya certificate primary education and Kenya certificate secondary education of last year 2004 have passed the exams without doubt.According to the people ispoken with them ,the told me that since Kakuma was established in 1992 such number of Aweil students havn,t make it to pass the exams in large number. The added that because of supplementary books, qualified teachers, increased of Aweil students in schools and altered of the system has make it possible for alot of them to pass the exams.Afew had make it from 1993 to 2003 but the average numbers of Bs and Cs for 2004 is double compared to 1993 to 2003 especially KCPE candidates. The industrious young hero of Aweil had done great job.The question is,what can we do as Aweil students in abroad/ Idecided that since we can,t afford to support them finanicially, let us encourage all of them through this website of mading Aweil by appreciate all of them for good job the have done.Iwas one of Aweil members who had attend Aweil conference in kansas city .Most of Aweil members who were speaking in Kansas city were focusing on education as rudimentary key of life nowaday encompass three prominent leaders of Aweil Mr Aldo Ajou ,sultan Tem Kuach, Dr john Ukech and new executive committe.Iwish all of you to support the idea. Samuel Akol Anei
Equally, I also appreciate fantastic job those kids did. It is joy for entire Aweil people especially the families of those kids and in particular my family whom one of the kids happened to be my younger brother.
It is true we cann't support them financially with the exception of closest relatives but would it not make sense if Aweil Youth office in United States could establish a little fund to sponsor kids who did exceptionally well and could not have a relative in the West to contribute towards their education?
I believe each one of us here could have surplus of $20 each month and could help to recruit these enormous hard working kids to help us fight "foolish majority" notion in Mading Aweil. If we could provide these kids with better education in Kenyan schools, I believe we will draw a a lot of teachers from them in future.
Akol, thanks for the topic.
Dhor.

Welcome to the board my brother and thank for your intensive follow up of our Aweil students in Kenya. Like, Dhor said, it is great job and we should be proud of these young boys and girls for their determination and unfailing work to bring up Aweil community to the light. Thank for your idea of encouraging them through this website by words of appreciation to them. It will surely motivate them to study harder because we are together with them though we can't support them financially.
Dhor
I totally agreed with you that Aweil Youth in united states should do something little to support those kids who don't have relatives in the abroad though the office is committed to building of schools back home. We can raise this point up in the upcoming Aweil youth general assembly meeting on July 4, 2005 in Nebraska, USA and see what the assembly will say, otherwise I seconded your point because it is the only way we can fight the term "Foolish Majority" in our community.
Applause

Nothing is possible without fair distribution of power and wealth.
The need for togetherness, compassion, caring, and mindful of others, particularly these young growing generations who are the futures leaders of our community is of tremendous importance. Their education deserves the highest priority among other things. Thus I urge the leadership to find or make the best plans on how to deal with education problems and other vital services Aweil needs to move forward. We must form and structure the leadership that will fight problems so that they are passed on to next generations. I urge those who have assumed the leadership positions in Aweil to work with people at the grassroot level. The common or ordinary people are the weak, poor, orphans, disabled, and other disadvantaged people in our communnity. It would be good for the leadership to fight the problems undermining the growth or development of these groups I have mentioned. It is for these people that we need to have power in any form being education or finance, it is for these people that we must form the best leadership to have ability to make the best decisions at this difficult time, it is for these people that we form the governements or organizations purposely to help those who have no ability to help themselves or who would make excellent replacements when we are gone. Thus I urge the leadership to work so hard to make each and every individual a successful person or independent person in Aweil community. Nothing can be achieved unless the leadership has a clear vision. Nothing can be achieved unless the leadership has plans. Nothing can be achieved unless the leadership has a caring and compassion for the most disadvantaged masses. The importance and responsibility must be recognized and be ecouraged to play a significant or instrumental role in finding better ways to deal with the problems affecting Aweil children everywhere. The roles of the leadership must be emphasized and ecouraged. The reason I stress the importance of the leadership is that leadership has ability to create a conducive or friendly environment to attract individuals or organizatiosn who have resources to help. Also the leadership can arranage or organize better ways of doing things systematically. Lack of well organized leadership will always remain a serious obstacle to our endeavors.
Note: I might have derailed from author intention but I am slightly closer to him.
Thank you brothers for your wise words. Aweil youths should make sure that those children who do very well are sponsored to public schools. This will encourage all children to study hard. My question is, what is Aweil youths office in USA doing? I have never heard of any activity carried out by this office, is there just by name or what? Aweil youths who live in USA should ask their leaders to tell them what they have done to the community, I am sure they were not elected to go and sit there, they promised to do something for our community what have they done now? I need answers to these questions.
Thank you brother Aneidit for sharing this good news with us. Those kids deserve every bid of appreciation for a job well accomplished. It requires a tremendous amount of sacrifice, effort and determination to pass national exams in that dusty region of Kenya given all the hurddles candidates have to put with. If we were an organized group of people, such issues would have been what we need to address, unfortunately, our organization is a dream yet to be realized.
One of the pressing reasons why we proposed Aweil Youths Global Body a month or two ago was to take charge of such vital issues because at our state of being, nothing significant can be accomplished. The need to organize ourselves has never been greater as we enter a post-war era. We need to encourage Aweil youths and community leaders to be farsighted and goal oriented as they continue guiding us. Our leaders should be focused, creative, open minded... if we are to make progress of any kind.
