In a crafty move to undermine the resolutions of the Rumbek crisis meeting of the leadership of the SPLM/SPLA, CDR John Garang de Mabior recently moved in three directions to consolidate his shaky position in the SPLM. These moves have not only re-ignited the conflict within the SPLM, but have also undermined the badly needed unity of the people of South Sudan. The proposed South-South dialogue conference has been postponed because the SPLM is not ready for it.
In order to execute his dirty tricks, he sent his deputy, CDR Salva Kiir Mayardit to China and immediately took over his functions and moved quickly to reorganize the SPLA. He even took over the jobs of his other two deputies, CDR Riek Machar and CDR James Wani Igga, while the two are in South Sudan. All these moves in a short span of time resulted in the following:
1. Removing those senior SPLA CDRs who criticized him in Rumbek and reassigning them to wildlife, Fisheries and etc, e.g. CDR Paul Malong Awan and leaving his staunch supporters to be in the key positions in the SPLA, e.g. CDR Pieng Deng Kwol. This is already causing rebellion in the rank and file of the SPLA. Is the colonel really for peace?
2. Training SPLA/SPLM personnel in the Republic of South Africa. In this regard, the majority are his kinsmen in Bor and his cronies in the other regions (the list is forthcoming).
3. SPLM/SPLA delegation to Khartoum and other towns. His cronies in other regions of South Sudan and his kinsmen of Bor are the majority (the list is coming soon).
Analysis of the delegations:
The delegation to South Africa is 85 and is composed as followings:
1. Upper Nile:- 34 out of which 22 hail from Bor, the home area of CDR John Garang and the remaining 12 are from Nuer, Chollo, Anyuak, Murle, and other Dinkas, both of which are 99% of the whole of Upper Nile.
2. Equatoria:- 20. Needless to say here, the Bor delegates of 22 are more than the whole region of Equatoria.
3. Bahr el Ghazal:- 24. Again the whole region of Bahr el Ghazal is only 2 more than Bor. In another analysis, Bor is half or 50% of the combination of Equatoria and Bahr el Ghazal.
4. Abiey:- 3
5. Nuba Mountains:- 3
6. Blue Nile:- 1
The delegation to Khartoum
The situation above is reflected in the numbers going to Khartoum. Out of 100 delegates to Khartoum, the following is composition of the delegation:
1. Upper Nile:- 26 out of which BOR is 11, representing nearly 50% of the delegation from UNP
2. Equatoria:- 16, comparing with Bor representation, the latter is approximately 48 % of the former.
3. Bahr el Ghazal:- 18, which is only more than Bor by 7 delegates.
4. Abiey:- 11, which is similar to Bor and the combination of Abiey, where most of the cronies of John Garang hail from and Bor is more than Bahr el Ghazal and Equatoria.
5. Nuba Mountains:- 9, Blue Nile 8 and other Northerners 12.
The other important points to note are:
Reorganisation of the SPLA has led to CDR Oyai Deng Ajak, CDR Pieng Deng, CDR Majak Agot to be in charge of the SPLA both the integrated unit and the SPLA. CDR Saklva Kiir is moved to SPLM. This is already causing crisis and no one knows, what will happen in the next fews weeks if not months.

Thank you very much for research till you find these crafty things taking place on our backyards. It was really very interesting for me when I read your messange concerning all these craftys disorganization for southerners. I tell you what, all these stupid things going on are like trainning monkeys on a tree and no matter how high the eagle fly, it will turn to the ground without it's tail touching on the ground. Politically, you are on fire a bout these issues but guest what, we can simplelly say to these kind of leaders that we are done with you four years from now if our unity, freedom and democracy prevailed. You know even majority don't lead for so long if they saw poor leadership in their terms. They will be automatically removed by minority from their leadership supported from different background. Please, be patience and let search for way we can eliminate these kind of leaders from their terms. Thank you again for your complain and have funs.
