The Minister of Energy and Mining in the Government of Southern Sudan Garang Diing Akuong and the Governor of Unity Taban Deng Gai Tuesday agreed to called back Northern Sudanese workers who evacuated the unity oilfields during deadly clashes that instigated by militias at Mayom and Biemnhom that left innocents civilians dead.

 

The Minister said it in briefing the head of companies and staffs in Unity State oil fields while in his two days visited to acquaint him with situations and stresses to the Northerners why Unity State Governor ordered them to leave the area.

 

Akuong confirms that the evacuations come as result of the Governor Taban Deng ordered Northerners workers to leaves the oilfields because of security meltdown pointed that he want the oil-workers to stays safety from Khartoum muzzle militias to destabilized the South.

 

Since the Government of Khartoum has their cake and eats it than we cannot entertain two things that contradict, killing the same people who have oil and exploiting oil in the same area of people for the benefits of the Khartoum, explain  Akuong.

 

We have been negotiated with Khartoum because of our political will to settle our issues as Sudanese people but they didnt have equally political will toward South, said Minister.

 

The entirely South Sudanese masses alongside with their authorities dont wish oil industry to run down although Khartoum pushed us to that expensive end, he pointed.

 

I hope an individual among you here have that spirit of continuing flowing of oil even if Southern Sudan declare it future status as sovereign nation we still need you and have will to cooperate with North in term of economic ties through creating a soft borders, said Akuong to the workers.

 

He stated that for oil to continue flow without interruptions than they must all work for security maintenance in the area and calls Khartoum to stop backing militias.

 

He stresses that the, paramount issue is security of both national and international staffs that work in the oilfields and the maintenance and protections of installations equipments of which both defense Ministers and him alongside his counterpart Minister of Khartoum Lual Achuek Deng signed memorandum of understanding regarding security cluster last year.

 

The Minister affirm commitment to protect them and industry and praise those one hundred and thirty workers that return back among three hundred and eighteen Northerners oil industry workers moved out of Unity oilfields to Khartoum, hoping that the oil will cease after they left, but few Southern Sudanese and foreigners in the oil industry sustain  it flow as usual.

 

Southern Sudan independences to hoist it flag high is an irreversible and Khartoum must be sure of this very well, said the Minister to the workers.

 

Akuong appreciates some managers and staffs that take courage and remains with Southern Sudanese oil industry workers to waits for authority to shares some issues that may fear them.

 

The Minister stresses again and again to Northerners that in the oilfields about the serious concerns of President Kiir regarding their security and foreigners and urges them to employed Southern Sudanese.

 

Southern Sudanese must be employing one hundred percent and trains to replace you and you will still be there as expatriates without controlling the activities, said Akuong.

 

 

The Government of Southern Sudan and it people have no agenda against an individual northerner that peaceful mind about his or her business, unless you are spying, said Minister

 

The Minister visits Unity oil control room and Power plant site and urges Southern Sudanese to continue the work as long as the government still identifying the gap those need to be filled.

 

The Governor of Unity State Taban Deng Gai in his briefing speech clearly explains that they will cooperate with someone who willing to maximize cooperation.

 

We are here followed up the development in the oilfield along with some many issues that need all of us to iron them out together as authority, said Gai.

 

According to him, he stated his ordered to let Northern leave the oil production area is to create a room for their safety regarding a security threats wage on State.

 

I wrote a letter to President Omar Al- Bashir about the incident that Khartoum presumably behind the attack, but no response about it, therefore I took a decision as the Governor.

 

Gai reiterated that he dont think that Sudanese will going to share the oil if Khartoum will not heed their voices and still create insecurity volume in South.

 

He urges Northern oil workers to form a forum that will let him; President Bashir, President Kiir and Salah Goch deliberate nagging issues.

 

It is our interest in the State to ensure that peace and stability has maintained in the oil field and urges workers to cooperate among them and exchange experiences.

 

He thank Southern Sudanese staff that maintain flow of the oil despite that Northerners evacuate the oil fields and pressing that South Sudanese can able to manage their own resources

 

The Governor of Unity State reaffirm the security improved at Mayom County  and flashback that bitterly memories and traumatized still chill the citizens of the area.

 

Sudan People Liberation Army(SPLA) has control the areas that captured instant  during attack by the militias groups led by the son of the area Peter Gatdet Yak one of SPLA dissidents Generals who support by Khartoum authority to destabilized a region that opt for independence said Taban

 

The recaptured of the area by the SPLA was great and the Government of Unity State gives massive message of credits to our gallant soldiers who clear way the militias he pointed.

 

The Governor described that the militias has plant more mine in the areas which is still another security threats after the SPLA renowned the area.

Many innocents civilians both children and women particular alongside countless properties loose in the incidents maintain the Governor.

 

The Governor asks, SPLA to still control the area so that militias are once and for all flushed out at Biemnhom and Mayom County.
