The Minister of Petroleum in the Federal government of Khartoum Lual Achuek Lual downplayed all the allegations amount on him by Pagan Amum doubled Minister of Peace and CPA implementation and the Secretary General of SPLM over Southern Sudan Television while in Addis Abba saying that he sell away the oil of Southern Sudan and give 48% to the Khartoum government.
Addressing the journalists at Juba International Airport upon his arrival the Minister of Petroleum denied of being termed by Pagan Amum as traitor and betrayer of his own people of Southern Sudan.
The selling of the oil was not only my responsibility, because I came to the President of the Government of Southern Sudan General Salva Kiir Mayardit and he gives order number 33 of forming the committee, selected in the Ministry of Finance and economic planning and the Ministry of Energy and Mining in the Government of Southern Sudan in collaboration with my Ministry in Khartoum, but political maneuvering entered and order number 34 was issued to disband the committee to look into oil sell, said Lual.
I gave instructions to all companies in Khartoum so that the oil of July will not be touch by the of the north because it belong to the Southern Sudan Government on what he called entitlement of 16th and 18th of July, although we managed to sell away the oil through the help of USAID, he added.
He refuted that the shortage of oil in Southern Sudan is the problem of the Ministry of Energy and Mining in the Government of Southern Sudan which was given 10M USD to contracted nine companies which were registered under my Ministry to buy oil from Jelly Gate in Khartoum to Juba, but they opted to give company to one company which got no license.
The Minister refused to name the one company that awarded with the contract of bringing fuel to Southern Sudan by the Ministry of Energy and Mining, but declined to come.
The another allegations labeled upon me by my colleague Pagan, who is younger to me in term of age and older to me in term of political, of given the government of Khartoum 48% of oil is not true andI am here to assure you that Pagan has totally totally violated the constitution of our party at the time we are almost to achieved what we fought for uncountable years, said Lual.
He congratulates the people of South Sudan and the leadership for being assigned to served them in the Government of National Unity (GONU) all along.
Pagan is my Secretary General in the SPLM and I am under his leadership as Minister, he have obligation to call me through party caucus, if it happened for me to betray my people, but he went on and spread lies which are baseless and merely political propaganda, Lual pointed.
The Minister refuted that what Pagan labeled upon him are lies because he always used to threatened people with baseless allegations.
He also accused Pagan of having transferred three million USD to his own account but no body hold him accountable, he sell Vivacel network company, he was given responsibility to built the headquarter of the SPLM, but he failed to completed the work, where are those money channeled,.
The Minister accused Pagan of violated the constitution of the SPLM at the time he deserved to be full secretary General.
The Minister call the people of Southern Sudan to remain calm and celebrate the independence of South Sudan peaceful and he is here in Juba to hand over the airport light to the Ministry of Road and Transport in the Government of Southern Sudan.
