Civil Society to educate public about rule of law

South Sudan Police Services together with leading civil societys organization dialogue on how to build trust and confident between police and citizens and shed light on the role of police personnel to respect and implement the law and be in the law.

 

Speaking to the Citizen Newspaper yesterday Bai Bol Managing States Affairs Secretary for South Sudan Youth Society for Peaceful Co-existence (SSYSPC) said coming together of civil societies and police has hope to achieve in area of law maintenance.

 

He makes this remark yesterday at South Sudan Hotel while meeting with some officials in South Sudan Police units adding that there is more work to do in term of enlighten the citizens on the rule of law.

 

The Civil Societies are part and parcel of every community and therefore we have great job to disseminate peaceful message to our masses to surrender their arms to nearby barracks or police as disarmament process is underway countrywide, said Bol.

 

The citizens has role to help police in maintaining security and stability by giving relevant information to security personnel and that is why some good wishers initiated police community dialogue as brainstorming between police officers or leaders and the CSO on relationship, he added.

 

We stresses on the importance of mass media outlet because the help police in process of unearth some information and investigation as well as prevention of crimes, he alerted.

 

We resolved that foreign should be registered upon their arrival and educate the civilians not to make deal with foreigners concerning land renting except with approval from relevant authority, he said.

 

We civil societies are brigade between the civilians and the government and we appreciate the good will of our government and police to hold this meeting every now and than, said Bol.
