NBG: Speaker Criticizes executive on Impeachment Motion

Ater Garang Ariath -Northern Bahr El Ghazal State Legislative Assembly Speaker, Aguer Wol Aguer blasted what he described in an interview yesterday on phone some elements within the executive body of State that drive some clichés members of MPs to preach motion on him to be remove under trees and declined to show-up in the Parliament sessions. The motion is an unconstitutional that motivated by some political figures within the executive body that enraged on my condemnations of arbitrary arrest of assembly members without consulting me to lift their immunity if the case is sensible and it need due processes, the speaker said. Aguer assures that he will not resign from speaker position unless the threshold of the assembly MPs confirm what he express as illegal motion against him for being vocal to end unconstitutional act and vulnerability of assembly members in the hand of wrong elements in executive. He further noted that those elements within State cabinet they lobbying here and there to see him step down are constitutional breach officials who are their polity fall outside the Transitional Constitutions of South Sudan and such violation of law need to stop. Aguer, stresses that he will not single out those behind the scene, dancing the songs of his impeachment drives, but urges them to follow the law line by line page by page to find where on earth the elected Members of Parliament arbitrary arrest without their immunity lifted first from assembly. He pointed that 2/3 majority members oppose the motion outside the parliament premises, and wishes those who want me to be remove should prepare their charges against me and table this motion in the parliament sessions. Aguer, calls upon the people of Northern-Bahr El Ghazal State to unite behind the state and the national government for the defending of the country rather than retrogress in those dark days, of which there is not rule of law that define clearly the function of the entities. He urges elements within executive body to respect the law of the State and call upon the law enforcement agent to restrict on applying the law where necessary.
