SPLM officials Hail University students role in Country
Wau, Ater Garang Ariath- The officials from Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) hailed University of Bahr El Ghazal students and lecturers for efforts that they exerted during the years of struggle for the nationhood that South Sudanese attained. Addressing hundred of thousands of party adherents, the former Governor of Eastern-Equatoria State Nartisio Loluke Manir who is the head of SPLM delegations to Western-Bahr El Ghazal State at University of Bahr El Ghazal yesterday, said that their mobilizations is to carry national message that President Kiir wants to reach all South Sudanese people including Abyei area. The SPLM delegations went to different parts of the Country pointed that the Vice President Riek Machar is in Rumbek delivered national message, James Wani Igga the speaker of National Legislative Assembly is in Jongeli, Mary Nyanwulang is in Abyei, and we were honor to be here with you, said Manir. The message is about thanksgiving, to all South Sudanese citizens that endured all form of subjugations under Arabs regime in Khartoum and stood firm with SPLM/SPLA during the movement that resulted to independence South Sudan of which all of us voted it during referendum, he pointed. South Sudan has paddle it own canoes as sovereign state, but a lot need to be done in order for our people to feel and realize how sweeties its to have their own country where every body is equally, said Manir. We are in the next phase of nation building and with this the SPLM wishes to collect the opinions of South Sudan ordinary citizens that will reflect in three documents that the party wants to initiating, Manifesto, Constitution, Code and conduct of business, which will guide operation and the behaviors of the members in the upcoming, National Liberation Council extra-ordinary meeting, he noticed. The SPLM wants to ask all South Sudanese whether we are in right direction or not? Because we want all these documents to reflect reality of our situations, the national liberation council will incorporate in those documents what you suggest, he further assured. South Sudanese are in second phase of liberation from ignorant, poverty, widespread corruption, diseases and high rate of illiteracy level, and therefore Universities students are agent of change and the country leadership wants your help, said official. You are wealth of this unique nation you are the people who will transform this nation, this is time for South Sudanese to reconcile first with their hearts before reconciling among themselves, and with this your unique contribution to achieve lasting peace and prosperity is needed, Manir urges students. We move around Western-Bahr El Ghazal State telling the truth about the decision that taken by the government to shutdown the pipeline, and you as University can explain this better to your communities back home regarding the positive part of the decision, he said. He appeals students to unite among them, and commit themselves to maximize their studies to complete courses within applicable timeframe work of courses, rather than repeating, adding that the country allocated 56 million South Sudanese pounds for universities to be operate. Efisio Kon Uguak, the former Deputy governor of Western-Bahr El Ghazal said that the President Kiir is happy with citizens, and need their help to deter all evil forms emerged with young nation, such as corruption, weak institutional systems, lack of discipline in the party, power wrangle and poor communication system. He added that the President message is to all South Sudanese not only the adherents of SPLM, because national cohesion and nation building need join effort from all citizens including different political forces. Achuil Malith the Secretary of Popular Syndicate Organization in national secretariats urges all students to embark on scientific research and come up with practical and theories ideas that could help the country move forward. He said that the SPLM wants to invest in training young cadres which are the backbone of the party and the improvement of human resource through offering more training within the country. Dr. Kuol Pal Deng the Secretary of Academic Affair and the head of SPLM teaching staff hails the party initiative of moving around the country restoring hopes upon the party among South Sudanese masses. He urges that the country need to pull its sock up through strengthening the capacity of public universities, pointed that no country in the world can experience rapid growth without effective human resource. As SPLM member I am concerns and focus on educational revival in the country, because without strong universities in the country that produce qualified staffs to different government institutions and private sector there still shortfall in the development, said Deng.
