Ben Aguer,

How is it going ya wet ajuz? Long time no see brother, welcome to the board. True to your words, gone are the days when Mading Aweil used to trial. Mading Aweil of this century will not be left out in the field of development and this board is a starting point. But Mading Aweil can not develop without unity among Aweil people, this board was therefore created to bring Aweil people together. So pass the word about this board to other Aweilians. Once again, thank you for joining the board, you will definitely like it here. Take care.

Ben Aguer,

I thank you a lot for incredible comments on the potential importance or benefit of the website. I believe this website will be extremely helpful in the sense that, a lot of Aweil people and youths particularily will find it really beneficial because they will voice their ideas to fellow friends through it. A lot of things especially plans meant to help Aweil development will be discussed with no fear on the website. Therefore, this website will serve multi-purpose mission for all of us: Being social, economic, political, and moral issues, they will all be discussed here.

Furthermore, sometimes people wonder if too much talk on the net will actually help. But I believe and I won't falter to say that it is helping because we are the primary resource. Human being is the vital component of development or prosperity, that is, if we all understand the importance of "unity of purpose," there is no question that we will save our people back home. We are the instrument that can properly or constructively use those resources to help our people back home. I have never been back since 1987 but I know the situation in Aweil is extremely pathetic and horrible. The magnitude of suffering facing our innocents who have no capability to save themselves is unbelieveable. There is no area in the south that as the same devastation as Aweil. Aweil has been destroyed to the foundation because of our closer proximity to Arab's locations and neglect from our administration despite the fact that our innocents were facing inhumane atrocities. There has been no military intervention organized by the movement to help the defenseless innocents who were always caught by barbaric people and brutally murderously killed in an inhumane way.

Ben, these tragic events which faced the forgotten people of Aweil, needs our re-organization and a new mode in our style of doing things. We have to get re-organized if we actually want to eradicate all these overwhelming disturbing situations in Aweil. I urge my brothers and sisters to compromise and swallow their prides for sake of saving the mass (the vast victims) who still don't understand who is responsble for their suffering, the mass victims in Aweil who are surviving on dangerous propaganda and political false-hood. Aweil people who can't differentiate between the truth and false. We are their eyes and liberators from both external and internal invasions. It is a time to prepare the community for current and potential challenges dominating the life of our innocents. When I talk of innocents of Aweil, I mean people who have been without proper knowledge, education, and awareness of what is exactly happening. They give their entire attention to those who are dangerous to them because they have no ability to analyze the ideas and apply the facts in their lives.

They always say "yeses" because Mr.X or Y has said it and he must be followed. Now I call everybody attention to accept the reality and terminate association with wrong people. I am not a politician nor political science major but I don't think politics means putting somebody else who doesn't know your culture, tradition, survival mechanisms, moral values, and norms in the charge of your destiny. We might be all Dinka, Nuer, Muro, Shilluk but that doesn't mean one sub-clan in entire Shilluk tribe  should take the responsibility of other sub-clans. That would be a collosal and dangerous mistake. And this is what has been happening in Aweil community, we have given our destiny to people who don't even know what kind of food we eat, the dress we wear, the number of animals we pay as dowry.

Ben, the principal reason I am elaborating this in such a lengthy message is because I want to point out areas of our weakness, which is completely different from education other people take as an excuse for our indecisive and ambivalent tendencies. No, the problem is not in education and I don't believe so, the problem is in our life style. We have to change our style if we want to be like others. Let's have ambition to have a president, important ministers, and other public figures from Aweil. That is the only way we can make it through this arduous situation.

The bottomline is that we have to have trust and confidence in our leaders, brothers, sisters, elders, and children and do more work to give them much better power to deal with regional problems without asking help outside Aweil. The solidarity, vigilance, and interdependence are the keys to prosperity in Aweil.

Dear all,

I don't care about whoever calls me tribalist or absolute master of division but the fact reality is, Aweil deserves especial attention more than other communities in the South.

Thanks,

Garang Aher Arol.
