I have just learn recently that the Associations of the Aweil community in Canada has been in a chaos for sometimes before they turn to act like 1st world citizens and respect the rule of constiution. Our brothers too in states of America have gone through these complications but i think are now cooling down. Now aday we, the Associations of the Aweil community in Australia are going through the same terrible situation where by there is no respect to the constitution, leadership and among each others.
Brothers, I totally believe that the crises in our Associations has nothing to do with the leadership of the Associations. the core issues of all these has something to do with our nature, the mentality and the level of understanding and the way we think. Many motives that caused all these confusions are similar in every states of Austarlia and even to that of Associations of Aweil community in USA, Canada, Egypt, and so on. For example, the run away with the Association documents and stamp is not something new, but is always done by people who doesn't understand the system of organisational work. The complete absent of our norms such as respect to each others, plus the change in the socio-economic standards and misuse of the state laws and bad assumptions that you know somethings when you actually know nothing are some of the factors contributing to the situations we are today in our Associations.
Brothers, Let us not blame people who runs the affairs of our Associations always and describe them as weak. Many of these people are well qualified and have long experiences in community work. They do their work in a very difficult and new environment which may be different from what they know or had experienced. Let us support them financially and morally so that they can achieve our objectives and sailed with us to the ocean of unity and prosperity.
Brothers, since i involved in community work the difficult group to deal with is always the so called "GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF AWEIL' . All crises in the Associations are cause by weak general assembly whom doesn't know their rights, duties and obligations. Many members of our general assembly follows idealogies and some still compare the way things work in 1st world nations.
Brothers, A lot are still missing in ourself so that our Associations can deliver what we expected from them. We need to rely on our Consitutions, norms which we are brought up with, love, and good uderstanding of the way things work wherever we are. Let us recognise each others abilities and respect differencies and completely resist influences and rumours of these bad politician who intend to gain from dividing our people.
Brother Luach, i totally a gree with you that there are people behind the ideas of dividing Aweil community into many small Associations like Abiem, Ayat, Paliet, Malual and so on. Many of them in diaspora follows the ideas of these corrupt politicians in Sudan who are after political gain. So let us work together to stop these ignorant elements who are pushing these ideas here in diaspora from ruining our unity and our Associations.
