New Comer!

Dear Southerners (Mading Aweilians, in particular),

I have learned, from different sources, that people of Mading Aweil have constructed a web site which is not exclusively restricted to/for Mading Aweil people (although it is meant to peculiarly and inherently embrace Mading Aweil matters), but it is also a wholesale "Forum" for all Southeners or South at large.

I have also seen familiar names of my friends whom I met and debated with on other South Sudanese web sites: Gurtong, for instance. These are Kuot Kuot (presumably the MA web administrator--not sure), Garang Aher (Mayiik), Mabbul (Mayom Bul), Santino, etc.

Therefore, I feel like I can join them too here and maybe I will attract swamp of Southern Sudanese friends here at MA, if circumstances permit.

Nice to joining you, guys!

Wangkec

Wangkec,

Welcome my brother. I am glad you have familiar people that you have perhaps discussed some heated issues with. I hope the same thing will happen here though it will be in a different fashion. I hope you are cognizant of recent signed peace between us and the enemy.

The biggest challenge is, we have to bring unity and peace back home in our families, individuals relations, communities, societies, neighborhood relations, and at large our nation, South Sudan, and work very hard to give these element opportunity to flourish in our hearts and minds. Given the fact that peace has been finally achieved, we have to widen our chests a little more so that we can relieve ourselves of grievances and misunderstandings that were caused by the war. It is a tremendous opportunity for us, particularly Southerners to get fully committed to strengthening or consolidating their unity and peace among themselves. It largely remains a challenging fact that the fragile unity and peace among us needs more work from Southerners particularly to give it overwhelming support and unshakable foundation so that our enemy, just in case, would find it difficult to give us simple test to break us apart. We have opportunity, which was brought by both our heros and heriones who honetly gave their precious lives for the sake of creating a better future and durable freedom for successive posterities in South. It is a fundamental fact that the only way to honor or glorify these heros and heriones, who did such an unprecedented superb job in our liberation is to sacrifice ourselves by giving unity and peace a top priority among diverse communities in South Sudan. People might precisely wrongly assume that the enemy has completely gone. However, I would say that it is dangerously a colosal mistake if there are some people who might be tempeted to think that way. We have to get fully prepared and create unshakable foundation prior to their deceptive tests. This enemy is clearly seemingly at the door. And we are all aware of this situation then Southerners must committ anything at their disposal to bring unity and peace and give it a top priority to flourish. We can only succeed through unity and symbiotic relation in South. Disunity and hatred are the major threats to prosperity in any institution. You have all resources but it is extremely to use them to benefit yourself or to help others if you don't unity and peace. We better get unity and peace immediately from this moment on. Therefore, it is fundamentally important to realize it and work tirelessly to bring it reality to our devastated region, South Sudan.

Peace

Thanks,

Garang Aher

Mayikaher,

My pleasure!

Your words are magnificient, thought-provoking and nationalistic sentiments (in positive essence) which come from a heart of future stateman: Hold on to that conviction, brother. What a fraternizing voice! I am moved and overwhelmed.

Mercy to every breathing Southerner!

Wangkec

Dear Wangkec,

It is a pleasure welcoming you to the board brother. As the name imply, Mading Aweil board is opened to everyone regardless of geographical location back home. We truly apprecaite everyone's decision to join us as that widens our perspective on we discuss. I do hope that you will find this board a great place to be since our discussions are a little more objective and analytical than on most other boards. You also like this board as most of us have probably debated with you on Gurtong board at least some point. Once again, welcome to the board. We look forward to sharing ideas with you bro. Take care.

There is an old adage that says, "when you are in Rome behave as Romans do." That is my philosophy. Although discussion is all, in many occassions, about disagreements and argreements in practice, I have to strict on MA principles though I will go astray when condition allows.

It is squarely noticeable that when an hungry person is invited (though greedy enough as others might typify), he/she can conform or adjust to the norms and values of the host although the urge of his/her obsession pushes her/him beyond the maximium. MA is a house for all Southerners but still it is exclusively built for or by MA. So, whoever enters this house has to respect the host as well as conform to the norms of Mading Aweillians, unless circumstances push him/her to certain spectre otherwise.

However, for me, I am a straight-up, strongly string-attached to the philosopghy I deem convenience to me, otherwise, I don't let-go unsubstantiated propositions.

We are going to learn one another in time to come.

Thanks,

Wangkec

Wangkec,

Most of us are unity and peace lovers but what we don't like are deceptive games played by other people. We want to be straightforward and honest with one another if we succeed and I believe that is the only way we can help ourselves and help others who might, in the future, need our help. We have to get rid of unrealistic assumption that "I am" more clever than that person or "we" are more clever than "those" people and therefore we have to lead or guide them. We have our strengths and weaknesses and the best way to combat those weaknesses is to honestly unify and work together as a people with a common goal. The masses in South today are leading the most desperate life in the history of mankind. It is unprecedented the most devastating and the worst disaster. And I don't think, personally, that the right way to help them is to assume being smarter and more knowledgeable than anybody else. We have to be honest and realistic to help and be able to maitain the integrity or dignity of our land and people in it. National unity or character that a lot people sing day and night would be achieved spontaneoulsy if work co-operatively with no greediness or corruption of ideas or anything. We have to be more practical this time for the common man to see substance of our effort and not just unproductive propaganda or deceptive games which would have a huge negative impact on lives of uneducated masses.

Thanks,

Garang Aher

Wengkec,

My message to you was no where close to warning bro. we at MA board treasure freedom of speech above all things. A free society is a progressing society, there is no way we can progress without such vital factors as freedom speech, freedom to form or join assembly etc. So feel free to share your views with us with complete ease, we all stand for the freedom of individual. Stay cool.

Dear Wangkec,

Like Garang Aher & Kuot Kuot, we value each other as we were been together in Ethiopia until we make it to scatter on all the planet, it seems that we are just playing here nevertheless, if God will we shall be together oneday, onetime, like Akuein Chol, Elijah Malok Alang, Ajel Deng Gai and many others were classmates including John Garang in Tanzania East Africa, during Anya-Anya 1 and now are the horns of the SPLA/M.

Eventually, there those who come here, and forwards Mading Aweil messages to others websites and they forget that these are Mading Aweil properties.

My advise to everybody here is that, when you visit this web site here,  what you got here, when you leave here, please let it remain here.

Like when we were in school which I guess quarter of you were in boarding school in Kenya, during closing day we normly handed school properties book to library, therefore, whatever, information you find here please let remain here we have got elders for Mading Aweil  in this discussion board who can sometimes advise Mading Aweil generation on that, juncture don't appear or attempt in saying that Aweilian are against Garang or whatever negative though, I eat once's wards if happen for me to deviate the topic.

Once again welcome Wangkec, although I don't know you I always do to some individuals to welcome them, feel at home please share with us thus, the same people that you might meet later are here  and were your former schoolmates or classmates.

I remain with best.

Dave Mayen.
