Dear Atak Wol,

First of all, welcome to the board. You raised a very important topic. Every community's success is dependent on the level of organization such community has. I personal apprecaite any idea pertaining to the organization of Aweil community as that is the surest way of addressing our problems. Sometimes in the past, we proposed a global body of Aweil youths, which would coordinate Aweil youths' activities internationally. This idea will probably be brought up in the Aweil youths conference in the States this coming July. Your idea here is also worth discussing. It will be very important if we have an organization that coordinates Aweil people's activities both in the diaspora and home. We have seen Somalis; they have things like international banks, does it mean they have more than us? No, it is because they are organised, so why are not organizing ourselves like them? Once again, thank you for the idea.

Kuot Kuot.

Atak Wol,

I appreciate your topic. I believe, yourself included, most of Aweil people have rightly identified the problems though they are still struggling to find the most appropriate means to address or solve them. And I believe this is the most arduous nature of these problems; that is, finding the best ways which would help us to solve them is proving a lot more challenging given the complicated nature of diversity in term of communications, wide geographical locations, political differences, lack of trust and accountability, anxiety and desperation, pessimism, economic differences, and social differences. In contrast, Aweil people can still make it through if we understand the importance of organization as you put it. Fundamentally, our organization will be successful if we would organize locally, I mean getting organized in our respective local places, for instance, Australia, USA, UK, Khartoum, Nairobi, would pave the way for a global organization.

My point is that I support Kuot Kuot notion of global body as the only way to succeed and get everybody involved in participation and contribution in the community. However, for this to happen, we have to have all respresentatives from every place for us to move forward uniformly progressively. The notion of getting every Aweil person in his/her community service work depends largely upon global organization, which would come only through local organizations. The bottomline is that leaders wherever they are must strive to make this come true and adapt it as a tradition in Aweil community. Irrespective of differences, I urge our leaders to mend fences between them and put their differences aside for now. They have to create and adapt environment which would elevate the human dignity and prosperity in Aweil.

Thanks,

Garang Aher

Hi ! everybody,

First of all, I would like to said that I personally is very happy with every Aweilian words of action. it works opposite way, like there is a saying that action is much louder than words. remember, nothing would help by the idea of creating many organizations with no hands on them. I can even tells by reading some people postings that they are even not aware of their own environment. charity begins at home, therefore organizing it locally will be better then globalizing it. I know we could not understand the way modern organizations work, but we can relate it to a boyhood to initiation. we have to start from local to national. If you are in USA try your best to bring people in your state together, and next unify it with your neighbor state and you will understand how easy or difficult it will be to put 50 states under one umbrella.

My last word is sitting in our own rooms creating or naming an organization we feel like will give a moral that will one time pull us back. Come out side from darkness and give us what you think will benefit the future of Aweil people. share your thoughts with people you live with, make them understand your point of view before publicizing it. This board is for public, since you don,t control it, which means everybody has access to it. post what will be postive not nagg.

Please avoid being prove "foolish majority"

Diing Dhan,

"Action is much louder than word." You are indeed correct, and this is what we all need to realize.

With respect to local organizations, for instance, in USA, we already have our body in place though I don't know its policies and level of organization. For the rest, I believe they have their own organized bodies and perhaps they are working to create more, for instance, those in Australia might be trying now to create their youths's body, Canada has already one and perhaps more active in place. Futhermore, this notion of creationg a global body is not unrealistic as most of us view it, it is something that can be achieved with the certain degree of preparation and dedication to make it come true. All organizations which are existing in the world today were created by the people with shared values to solve common problems facing them. Similarly, I believe we have shared values in our community and at the same time we have common problems which want us to take decisive action against them.

Also, I would say to make this come true would depend on building solid confidence and optimism in our capacities as able people. Otherwise self-doubting and pessimism won't take us far. The policies of hope, optimism, confidence, and courage are what will give us energy in this seemingly difficult process. Nothing is easy including family responsibility or local management.

But what matters is dedication and co-operation.

Things are extremely complicated given the nature social, political, and economic prostration but let's not feel defeated or unable to fight them.

Thanks,

Garang Aher
