"The best can be done to Aweil only by Aweil people." This is exactly correct. It is ultimately our responsibility to fulfill the needs of our vulnerable and defeneseless people. We have more responsibilities to them than anybody else would.
How are we going to do that is the question most of us don't appropriately answer. From my standpoint, identifying the problem and failure to find the solution for it is the same as misdiagnose of the problem and sovle it with an inappropriate solution. Most of other people are succeeding in their endeavors because they always strive to find workable solutions for their correctly diagnosed problems. In the same fashion, we must adapt this tradition.
Therefore, we must give support to our leaders to adapt more practical approach to the problems. They have to get appropriate solutions for these disturbing problems. I believe that by giving support to our leaders and individuals would make our life much better than in the past. Personally, I strongly believe in competent, responsive, unifying, caring, compassionate, and future oriented leadership. The leadership that would always make itself physically present amongst the common people and try all time to confront life threatening situations before they cause massive damage to their subjects, is the kind of the leadership I wan to grow in Aweil. I believe in the strength of the leadership and thus I urge Aweil people to support their leaders either at local level or national level. It is a time for us (Aweil truely born kids) to work hand in hand with our leaders. The support we give them can recharge and enthuse them during this difficult time.
Deng Kak, though I don't know your position or role in Aweil community in Cairo, Egypt, I would encourage you to support your leaders and work together as one team. The strength of the leader is the capacity of the people and that is why most of highly developed countries focus more upon improving the capacity and strength of their citizens. These particular countries believe that the power of the government emanates from the power of the citizens and therefore they strive to improve the capacity of their subjects. It is an ethical responsibility of the leadership and citizens for the benefit of one another, for the leadership is for the people and the people are the leadership. Let's all recognize this fundamental fact before we embark on these difficult endeavors.
