I found this article on the Gurtong Discussion Board. I Guess we should keep our critical affairs from outsiders. But since the article is already flying everywhere, I don't see the need of not sharing it with Aweil people who are particularly being addressed here.
So take a look at it and make your own judgement.

Ajou Deng Akuei Secret visit to Khartoum
Recently, Mr. Aldo Ajou has been making a lot of propaganda in an attempt to use our people as a stepladder for his furtive quest to attain position of the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs of Southern Sudan. Among circles in Khartoum, Nairobi and in the Diaspora, Mr. Ajou would declare himself as a “millionaire” (from NBA basketball contract of his son), and that what he needs now is only to help people! In his view, the new-founded “wealth” makes him a perfect man for the job since he would have no motive(s) to embezzle relief and post-war reconstruction funds which will pour in from donors and international community simply because he’s now living in plenty. However, for those who know Mr. Aldo (a man born from one of the richest families in Aweil), such an abrupt repentance from his past misconducts based on claims of wealth-content leaves much to be pondered.
Considering Aldo’s appalling political history, much of which can be found in lyrics of SPLA revolutionary songs, I doubt whether Comrade Dr John Garang De Mabior would even take a glance at his application. Having said that, we should not relax and let him exploit Aweil’s name unabated. We must expose the man, especially his activities geared towards intimidation of the movement in order to force the Chairman to select one of his stooges for position of Aweil State Governorship as he did with Bashirús appointment to Mr. Garang Deng Aguer.
Aldo’s tendency to impose himself as a lead Aweil political figure, and his endless lust for power never ceased even after his recent failure to persuade or intimidate John Garang in Nairobi and Rumbek.
Engaged to the brim in what is most viewed as pure “political prostitution,” Aldo is now in Khartoum on a secret mission to try his luck with Omar Al Bashir. Reports from reliable sources in London and Khartoum confirmed Aldo’s sneaky creep to NIF palaces in Khartoum two days ago in order to sell his agenda of Aweil conference, which he believes will bring his allies to power in that state against the will of the Movement and that of Aweil people. Aldo started consultations with NIF agents in Khartoum to ensure backup from the government, especially financial support to buy more supporters. What is striking though is the fact that Aldo never made any public appearance since arriving in Khartoum; not even to Aweil citizens, the very people he claims to represent.
Stay tuned for more reports!
Dr. Mawien Akot

Peace means freedom of movement. many of us could have visited Khratuom if we were inside Sudan. his sneaky visited might be family related issues. As I heard earlier that his sister passed away around the time of his visited. we should be giving him condolesences for her decease sister instead of accusing him of propagandas.
The article does not detail what Ajou is doing in Khartoum. We also know that this is not the first time that Ajou has been to Khartoum. He had been living in Khartoum as a political activist before leaving for UK when Khartoum itself became unfit for his stay. thus, the reason for his living as a political exile in UK.Suspicions do not have to arise here without valid promises of his political undertakings.
If Pagan Amuom can go to Khartoum why not Ajou who has never been more of an archenemy of Khartoum than Pagan who was waging an armed resistance against the 'state', a move which is constitutionally interpreted as a treason and which carries death sentence? Thus Ajou's stay in Khartoum should not create tenterhook for South Sudanese unless we are sure that he is collaborating with the incumvent gov't of militatry junta of Umaar. What Mawien is wrote is just a thin end of the wedge. We should not go about discrediting every politician because we ourselves want to practise politics or just want to be politicians.
Ajou is a seniour Sudanese citizen and more so, a seniour politician.Nobody has the right to disenfrachise him. My take.
Thanks,
Santino M.Dau Deng Agieu Kur.

General concern, neither favoring nor underming anybody.
I suppose this should be the right time for you to sit down and find out why Aweil lags behind in development and recovery instead of encouraging unhealthy campaign against each other.
In the course of military struggle in South Sudan, Aweil people have faced unprecedented destruction in term of lives, wealth, and many more. And in fact all of you have been doing different thing or enjoying life somewhere while the most vulnerable innocents were heading to the land of slavery in unprecedented number. I thought Aweil leaders and elders should unite strongly and find committees to deal with the issue of slavery. I thought you would be asking why the issue of slavery was not a part of the peace process. Aweil grown-ups, when will Aweil people feel represented in South Sudan, where people don't care for other people who have no caring representatives like our community? Where will we go when your principal concern is only governorship or commissionership and not presidency nor regional leadership? How will we [young people] learn the correct way of doing things when all you are overwhelmingly concerned about are positions and you don't think other alternatives that can help the uneducated masses in Aweil? How would you prove to us that you are for the welfare of the Aweil community and not after the fulfillment or achievement of personal political ambitions? In the next few months this year, Aweil war affected people will again for third time be hit by a massive destruction of starvation or famine. But nobody has ever mentioned it in his article: Both Mawien Akot and Aldo Ajou never talk about in at all in their messages though the disaster is more highly likely to come. Dear leaders and elders, who else is influential voice in Aweil community? Who would make the situation in Aweil more credible if you are not the one? I just don't understand your behaviors and your ambitions. Are Aweil people imprecated or cursed that is why they are lacking sense of direction? Does it mean Aweil leaders and elders can't reconcile and mend their fences for the sole to work for the common good for Aweil community?
Already, thousands of Aweil kids have gone to slavery in an incredible number but nobody in the Aweil leadership has raised this issue. Who would protect us if none of you has no seriousness to deal with such sensitive and disturbing issues in Aweil? In the recent CPA agreement, peace was signed while Aweil voice was not represented. I am saying that because Omar Beshir or Mr. Taha was not asked whether those who were abducted would be re-unified with their families; on the other hand, whether the families of the missing kids would be fully compensated. Further, John Garang was not reminded of the issue of the slavery in Aweil area. This is another tragic failure which occurred in the recent CPA agreement. How would you feel and what will you tell the parents and relatives of the missing kids and those whom their wealth have been taken away by the "Baggara" or "MUraheleens?" Most of you let John Garang dominated the table with garbages and personal agenda of pursuing his tyranny in the South Sudan leaderhip. In that situation, you assumed that you would cause a problem to peace if you would raise the agenda of slavery. Is the issue of peace more important than that of slavery you think so? When will you think of Aweil welfare and not personal success nor South Sudan benefit? Why do you [leaders and elders] always compromise to other people advantage and not Aweil advantage? Why do you fear to raise the issue of Aweil freedom? Why do you always think that raising issue of Aweil would jeopardize South Sudan? Do you want us to close our eyes to our people suffering and focus on South Sudan problems and personal political ambitions? And if that is how you [leaders and elders] think then what will have happen to those who expect some responsibilities and duties from you?
Aweil leaders and elders, I respect your commitment and sacrifices but I don't want you to compromise Aweil people suffering for the welfar of South Sudan. Let's take advantage of this opportunity to establish ourselves prior to the general election where majority will decide either to go for unification with Arabs or separation from Arabs. Given this fragility of the situation, I urge you to get organized, whether you are elder or leader to prepare our people adequately for the final political decision in the next few years. The vast majority in Aweil need competent, caring, responsive, and mindful leadership. They [Aweil people] need the leadership that would make itself physically present all times in their situations. They need the leadership that would get involved in discovering new ideas or policies and disseminate them in the community. They need the leadership that would take the security of Aweil people as the top priority. They need the leadership that would care for the economic growth and political development of Aweil people. They need the leadership that would feed them with right information and not dangerous propangada nor false political information. They need the leaderhip that would bring and reconcile the differences between individuals and small communites in Aweil community. They need the leadership that would prepare for the next generations by confronting the current and future problems through promoting better and adequate education for every child in Aweil area. My concern is that I don't want Aweil innocents to be caught in another political quagmire or predicament as it was in the slavery time. Let's learn from the past mistakes.
Here is Hon. Aldo Ajou response to the ongoing allegations against him.
Take a look at it and draw your own judgement.
What the likes of Dr. Mawien and his cronies doesn't know is, Aldo Ajou has mandate of Aweil people as their community elder and leader and should he deviates from his duties expected, then it is Aweil community through their leaders to confront him and not just a mere sycophant out to please his master at the expense of Aweil.
After all was it not the same Mawien that frustrated Aldo Ajou effort to sought a dialogue with Baggara to trace some kids still in slavery? was it not the same Mawien that try to make image out of CDR Laul Diing Wol's disagreement with John Garang? WHat good things had this man done to this community other than conspirancy against Aweil only surviving politicians?
Drawing a link between Aldo Ajou and Bashire is demagogue to flatter Aweil people to denounce him as enemy. No sound human being will buy into such cheap a llegations manufactured over night out of jealousy.
Continue to appease your master but any attempt by your master to hand pick you and put you in Aweil as fashioned leader will be heck.
Dhor Aher.
Aldo’s response: ----- Original Message ----- From: "Aldo Ajou Deng-Akuey" Sent: Monday, February 28, 2005 11:00 PM Subject: Thugs again from Nairobi, London and Canada Dear All No surprise to learn that some thugs in London rang telephones in order to let their senior thugs know that they are still busy manufacturing lies against the so called elders. Others rushed to internet to please their masters that their communists disinformation and lying is still to survive event after the 9 January 2005 agreement between the SPLM and the Islamic government in Khartoum. It was expected that the Southern communists would cease their nonsense against the so called elders, of course a communist believes he or she cannot be an elder by all means, and celebrate their controversial unity of the Sudan in association with Northern Sudan's pan Arabists and foreign agents that have been the consistant enemies of South Sudan. Thank God we are intering the demoratic era again after Devastating twenty one years. They said, "Aldo has gone to Khartoum." Silly. No surprise to sensible person after the signing of peace, after Brother Eduard Lino flew crocodile tears in Khartoum, after Mr Yasr Arman and brother Pagan Amum opened their left wing SPLM's office in Huria street in Khartoum and after the Popular NDA have signed their version of agreement with Sudan government on 16 February 2005 and witnesed SPLM good young men like Dr Masour KHalid. I am event late. I should have gone on the dates mentioned by the Third class thugs. But my schedule is this: I am going to Aweil Town and to Khartoum in the first week of April 2005. What shall I being doing? I shall support peace agreement as signed by Dr John Garang, the Chairman of the SPLM and Molana Ali Osman Mohamed Tah, first vice president of Sudan. I appreciate and support what both men had established. It was a tedious negotiation, though. But they made it. I shall support " the give unity of the Sudan the priority..." Throughout the six years transition. And I will propagate tirelessly for the human right of self-determination and human right of democratic casting of my valuable vote in the referudum to determine, once and for all, my Destiny and that of my country. I shall strongly advocate the unity of the South and negotiated Settlement of arms conflicts among Southern Sudanese. I shall not go for unrealistic South Vs South Sudan dialogue. I shall advocate, very strongly the South Africa Truth and Reconciliation version in order to forgive criminals, not to forget, those who have committed murders and violated human rights during the war or before. I shall not support a rush to forming political parties during the interim period by Southern compatriots. I shall advocate for the South to continue its support to the Movement, SPLM, in order to minimize the fragmentation into further tribalism. It should be noted that the SPLM has the political capacity, as a movement, to contain the like minded groups: the left, center and right conventional politics idealogies, liberties, freedoms and democracy. This will be safe for us until we arrive to our unifying goal: total freedom and independence. Lastly, not least, The SPLM should jointly and in partnership, as they agreed to do, with the National Congress, to implement the agreement they brought about. This put them face to face with those Northern parties opposed to it. Mindful of the Addis Ababa agreement, mistakes must be Avoided by the NDA fans from the South. We had had that experience. Avoidence is the word. Aldo Ajou Deng Akuey Nairobi

I think someone has got to advise Mawein Akot to stop this culture of assassinating other people's character. This is nothing short of bringing disgrace to the community, who does Mawein wants Aldo to ask for permission to go to Khartoum? I think this is completely ridiculous. If Mawein is still calling those going to Khartoum "enemies of people" what then is the meaning of Feb' 9th peace accord between the south and the north? Mawein should be told that the whole SPLM/A is going to Khartoum soon. So it is pointless insulting individuals going to Khartoum when the entire organization is on its way to the same place. It is high time people like Mawein should begin engaging on the pressing matters affecting our people at home instead attacking leader after leader.
"Considering Aldo’s appalling political history, much of which can be found in lyrics of SPLA revolutionary songs, I doubt whether Comrade Dr John Garang De Mabior would even take a glance at his application"
The above quote is ridiculous, must Aldo Ajou apply to Dr. John if he wants to go to politics? Mawein may not be aware of the new political realities in the south, John Garang no longer has power to hand pick people for positions. The power now belongs to people and not to him. So it is the people that Ajou will apply to but not John Garang. Sycophancy is a disease that will need to be found by all southerners otherwise a few sycophants can easily doom our great land.
I don't think Dr. Mawien Akot will listen to anyone advise. The man is known for using defamatory words. I think this became a habit to him. Mawien Akot is still thinking may be Dr. John Garang still has absolute powers and that citizens of south sudan would ask permission from him in order to travel to khartoum or else where. May be his best friends would advise him but I doubted whether he will listen to them. Mawien Akot has a special degree in character assassination and he intends to use it throughout his lifetime.

Can anyone update Dr.mawien Akot that garang is not human resource? “I doubt whether Comrade Dr John Garang De Mabior would even take a glance at his application" said mawien. The above quote sentence designates Dr. Mawien still in darkness. I though his title “DR” will really define him. He better mind his business and leave ajoudit a lone. I can wrap up all this nonsense as covetousness of ajou deng being a millionaire.
What can a person says when reading Dr. Mawien's message regarding to Mr. Ajou Deng's visited to Khartoum. I can tell Mawien has been commissioned by his master as a watchdog of Aweil people wherever they maybe while some of his follower called him a strong supporter of SPLM/A. How do they called those Aweil young men who died during the war against Arabs?
Betraying your own brother in the eye of the public will make him no good at all. He must try another away of achieving this goal, recognition from Master of all. Tail wagging and bootlicking is one way he used already but do him nothing good. I encouraged him to try hard so that he can acquired what he need.
Pure propaganda, Aldo Ajou is nothing, I don't know why the author of the article publish Aldo Ajou secrte visited to Khartoum. Mawien Akot you was wrong Aweil of to day is different. we are not going to entertain in and out game for any reason because we lost our most brave young men in the last 21 years war. If Aldo Ajou chose to go back to Sudan Government it is up to him, he is not going back with any body, it is his right and we should respect his right. any way thank you for your great concern
